Whenever there is localized bleeding due to injury of limbs, the only way to stop bleeding is to apply pressure on bleeding point. Rakshika dressing is capable of applying 3 times more pressure then conventional dressing. Rakshika is easy to apply even with single hand. There is rigid ridge which generates pressure on bleeding point. There is very less risk of gangrene as blood circulation will be maintained from side of ridge. The wound pad in Rakshika has a non stick lining due to which removal of dressing is almost non traumatic. Wound pad also had antiseptic which prevents infection. The bandage is elastic and accommodates post injury swelling. Top layer is cohesive and water repellent. It is being used by various divisions of Indian Army namely DGAFMS, DGMS Army, AFMSD Delhi Cantt, Head Quarter NC, CRPF etc..
