PSI offers Bowie-Dick Test Pack For Porous Loads which assesses the Air-Removal Capacity of the Pre-Vacuum Sterilizers in CSSD. These are Class 2 Indicators which are to be used mandatorily in an Autoclave with a Vacuum pump. Before the Sterilisation process, the air pockets need to be completely removed from the Sterilizer so as to ensure steam penetration to every corner of the Autoclave. The Bowie-Dick test cycle is at beginning of the working day in an empty load. Only with a successful Pass, the subseqent sterilisation cycles can be done on the Autoclave.
