The tribal artisans have exemplary weaving skills. The tribals of north-east weave a variety of textile/ fabrics such as shawls, sarongs, gamchhas and sarees in cotton, eri and muga silk. The missing tribe in Assam weaves cotton sarees in traditional motifs used in weaving of muga silk, where the border and the palla have an exquisite pattern. In Madhya Pradesh, the bhils are involved in the weaving of Maheshwari sarees which are then hand block printed by the tribals in bagh.
